A Day at the School
The school opens daily at 08:00 and closes at 16:20 from Monday to Friday.
The days at the school will always differ from one another, but there is a certain routine and organizational elements that structure our days:
08:00 – 09:30
Welcoming the children. This is a delicate moment in which the child greets the parent to continue his or her day with the teachers and classmates. The Teachers welcome the children into the different classrooms at the school and start the day with games and play;
09:30 – 10:00
Breakfast with milk, yoghurt, juice and biscuits or cakes offered by the school;
10:00 -10: 30
Cross-over activities: prayer, calendar, songs, rhymes, poems; Activities of dramatization, listening, theater, graphic-pictorial, manipulative, motions.
10: 30-12: 00
Teaching activities in the classrooms: Various learning units and projects
12:00 – 12:20
Personal hygiene and morning routine.
Children-sized toilets and sinks invite children to the “I can do it myself” experience.
12:30 – 13:30
Lunch. It is important to note and facilitate that the children are “talking” at the table, about home and school experiences; The teacher is there to listen, ask questions and initiate and strengthen autonomy by assigning, for example, the task to some children to take responsibility for pouring water into the glasses and passing through the basket of bread.
13:30 – 14:20
Personal Hygiene and afternoon outdoor play. Free or structured games on the outdoor playground or in the different sections or in the salon, if the weather is bad.
14:20 – 15:45
Naptime for the very young ones and listening, graphic and manipulative activities for the older students. For the 5 year olds, there is primina twice a week.
This moment of rest is a time where the teacher’s skill comes into play to direct the children to rest in a serene way. In this phase, chansons, fables and nursery rhymes or ways to make the children relax and also find time for cuddling and pampering in order to promote relaxation.
15:45 – 16:20
