The Bilingual School Piccole Orme

Since 1997, Piccole Orme has been a place where your child can learn, grow, and develop under the care of experienced teachers.

Located in a private villa with an outdoor playground and private garden, Piccole Orme is committed to providing the highest quality education for your child.

Teachers create a warm, attentive, and joyful environment every day that encourages children’s natural curiosity and fosters confidence in their innate abilities. The school provides meals and snacks prepared in the internal kitchen; food is carefully selected to be as natural and easily digestible as possible, varied appropriately: meat, fish, eggs, cheeses, legumes, grains, vegetables, and fresh seasonal fruit.

Piccole Orme implements all the guidelines outlined in the European Framework for Key Competences. The atmosphere is open, attentive, and family-oriented, supporting the harmonious growth of children.

Our Bilingual Philosophy

The innovative bilingual program at Piccole Orme offers a unique opportunity to stimulate natural English learning from early childhood. Knowledge of English is essential to face the challenges of today’s society.

Bilingualism is not only the ability to speak two languages but also a way of thinking that is more open and intercultural.

The goal of the program is to give children the opportunity to learn English naturally and simply through a full-time educational pathway offered by native English and Italian teachers for children aged 0 to 5, divided into various sections. Both languages coexist without confusion, enriching the child’s cultural background and guiding them toward a reality that embraces diversity.

Native-speaking teachers and educational experts support the teaching team during daily project activities. From the morning, teachers welcome the children and work in small, homogeneous groups on activities that complement and reinforce the work begun in the classroom by the regular teachers. The aim is to help children, through a language other than Italian, to:

  • Listen and repeat words, songs, and rhymes with correct pronunciation and intonation (phonetic).

  • Memorize vocabulary, short dialogues, songs, counting rhymes, and poems (lexical).

  • Respond, ask questions, follow, and give simple instructions (communicative).

The educational and didactic approach focuses on developing listening skills, comprehension, and understanding of meaning.
