Educational and Didactic Design

According to the new national guidelines, the centrality of each child in the growth process is supported by the specific educational context. Piccole Orme is therefore a school focused on attention and interaction, and on the implicit curriculum, which is expressed through the organization of spaces and daily educational routines. It places the child’s activity, bodily experience, actions, and languages at the center of learning.

Teachers design learning pathways and environments by building on the personal experiences that each child brings as their own background, gradually guiding them towards knowledge and, from there, towards the acquisition of cultural, metacognitive, methodological, and social skills for the future. The work carried out is not about organizing or prematurely teaching knowledge or language content, but rather about creating cultural and practical contexts that enhance children’s experiences through the synergy of images, words, gestures, and educational proposals, all facilitated by the teachers’ interventions and reflecting contemporary society.
