Continuity
Horizontal Continuity: School and Family
-
The family is considered the primary educational environment and is therefore called upon to actively collaborate with the school. To this end, assembly meetings are scheduled throughout the year.
-
Training sessions are organized with the participation of various professionals and experts, such as psychologists, psychotherapists, sociologists, and pediatricians.
-
The psychologist, Dr. Rita Tucci, periodically observes the children and their work, then reports her observations during school–family meetings.
-
The pediatrician, Dr. Giuseppe Florio, examines the children at “Piccole Orme” to ensure their health and well-being.
-
-
Periodic celebrations: Every occasion is turned into a moment of festivity and an opportunity to spend time together.
Collaboration is fostered through dialogue and exchanges between teachers and parents to ensure continuity and consistency in educational approaches:
-
Teachers are available for individual meetings with parents.
-
The school encourages:
-
Participation in assemblies, individual meetings, and celebrations.
-
Collaboration between parents and teachers.
-
Respect for rules, schedules, and the careful work of the teachers.
-
All of this contributes to creating a coherent implicit curriculum based on mutual trust.
Vertical Continuity
-
Availability to share information about the child’s experiences and development.
-
Openness to relationships founded on transparency, trust, respect, and active participation.
-
From preschool to primary school: Opportunities are provided for meetings between preschool teachers and primary school teachers, as well as exchanges and visits involving students in the transitional “bridge years.”
-
Assessment of individual developmental and learning levels to facilitate children’s transition to primary school.
-
Personalized interventions to help each child acquire foundational skills, which serve as prerequisites for future learning.
